Whipped Cream Dyed Easter Eggs!
Simple and fun way for kids to color eggs
I used to love to dye Easter Eggs with shaving cream and food coloring. I absolutely loved the beautiful marbled effect it created!
What I didn’t like however, was that it made the eggs inedible.
Enter-whipped cream! Coloring Easter Eggs with whipped cream and food coloring creates the same marbled effect as shaving cream -but the whipped cream method makes the eggs safer to eat!
Whipped cream dyed Easter eggs create a colorful, swirled design on the eggs-each one as unique as the next!
Kids love this technique as it allows them to experiment with color-mixing and gives them a reason to play with whipped cream!
Is this method messy…
Yes! But it is totally worth it!

How to dye eggs with whipped cream
First start by hard boiling eggs
Read “How to Make Perfect Hard Boiled Eggs” here!
Soak eggs in vinegar for 10 minutes
Remove and pat dry with a paper towel
Soaking eggs in vinegar will produce brighter colored eggs
Add about 1 inch of whipped cream to a pan, tray or muffin tin
Drop gel food color into the whipped cream
Keep colors about 1 inch apart
NOTE: Gel food coloring will create brighter colored eggs than liquid food coloring
Using a toothpick or knife, swirl the food coloring a couple of times
Only swirl 2-3 times to keep the swirl effect dramatic and prevent the colors from turning muddy
Roll the eggs in the whipped cream until completely covered
Let sit for 10-30 mins
The longer the eggs sit the more vibrant the colors will be
Gently wipe the eggs with a paper towel
Don’t run the eggs under water-the water pressure will remove the coloring
