Caterpillar Pattern Activity for Kids

early math skills

Learning and understanding patterns is an important early math skill and helps children understand complex number concepts and math operations.

The ability for children to recognize, extend and create patterns are critical for noticing math patterns in their future learning.

Working with patterns also increases a child’s critical thinking skills as well as their ability to reason logically.
