Explain the ABAB pattern to your child
Ask your child to extend the patterns on the caterpillar using pom-poms to paint the circles
Invite your child to create their own ABAB pattern on the blank caterpillar
Introduce the ABB pattern
Ask your child to first extend the pattern on the caterpillar by pom-pom painting the circles
