Silly Erasing Reading Game

Literacy activity for kids

This fun reading game quickly became one of our favorites, both in my classroom and at home!

Silly Erasing is a wonderful way to have fun with word play and is a powerful way to strengthen your child’s ability to decode or “sound out” words.

This game also reinforces print awareness, letter recognition and phonological awareness.
Silly Erasing is a fantastic way to keep word play fun, silly and engaging!

Choose words that are familiar to your child, let your child choose words, choose silly words, choose nonsense words-the sky is the limit!

We used to do this in the bath tub with foam letters that stuck to the side of the tub. Such a great way to make bath time even more fun!

purpose

  • Reinforces phonological awareness
  • Fun with word play
  • Promotes sight reading
