This Playdough Jack O’Lantern is an absolutely adorable hands-on Halloween activity for kids! These cute Jack O’Lanterns are simple to make and fun to create! Orange Playdough (homemade or store bought)
Jack O’Lantern faces (access free printable HERE)
Pretzel sticks
Googly eyes
Green pipe cleaners

Hands-on Halloween Fun!

Playdough Jack O'Lantern
Roll the orange play-dough into a ball
You can buy orange play-dough or make your own
1 cup of flour
1/4 salt
2 teaspoons of cream of tarter
1 cup of water
1 Tablespoon of vegetable oil
Orange food coloring
Mix ingredients together in a pot
Stir well
Place on medium heat and continue stirring until the dough forms
Place dough on a lightly floured surface
Let cool
Knead dough until it’s the right consistency
Download, print and cut out the Jack O’Lantern faces
Curl green pipe cleaners (wrap them around a pencil for easy curling)
Set out all the materials, including pretzel sticks for the stem
Press the ball of play-dough in to a flattened circle
Invite your child to add a pretzel stick for a stem
Add the green pipe cleaner for a vine
Add the green leaf behind the vine
Time to add some eyes and a mouth to the jack o’lantern!
Remove the eyes and mouth
Add new features!
Continue as long as your child is engaged!
