This Kool-Aid Playdough recipe is incredibly simple and makes the softest playdough! 

 

Making playdough with Kool-Aid is an easy way to make vibrant colored playdough and as a bonus-it makes the playdough smell incredibly delicious! 

Scented playdough is a wonderful way to engage your child in sensory play.

How to make Kool-Aid Playdough

  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 2-3 Kool-Aid Packets of desired color
Add all dry ingredients to a bowl and mix well. 
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp vegetable oil

Set a large pot on the stove and set heat to medium. Add water and vegetable oil.

Add in dry ingredients.

Mix ingredients together on medium heat

Continue mixing until a doughy ball is formed

  • Place newly formed dough on a lightly floured surface
  • Once cool, knead the dough until you reach the desired consistency.
  • If the dough is sticky-knead in additional flour until the dough is smooth and soft
  • Once playdough is fully cooled invite your child to play!
  • Set out play-dough tools and toys and allow your child space to create.
