How to Make a Simple
Halloween Sensory Bin for Kids

  • Add 6 cups of rice to a large Ziploc bag
  • Add 6 teaspoons of vinegar to the rice
  • Add several drops of orange food coloring
  • I also added a few drops of yellow food coloring, after I mixed in the orange food coloring, to give it a candy corn look!
  • You can also use red and yellow food coloring
  • Close bag and mix well!
  • Lay rice on a paper towel lined tray and allow to dry
  • It can take anywhere from 2-24 hours for the rice to dry
  • Once the rice is dry add it to a tray

For extra fun, consider adding in other Halloween inspired items such as…

  • Googly eyes
  • Pom-poms
  • Candy Corn
  • Plastic Spiders
  • Candy Pumpkins
  • Place the tray of rice on the floor, on top of a towel or sheet
  • Add in lots of cups, scoops, pans and  anything else you think your child would enjoy
