Cute Father's day Writing Craft for Kids
preschool-2nd grade
Father’s Day is just around the corner, and if you’re anything like me, you want to send your little learners home with something that’s going to make the grown-ups in their lives melt. (Pun absolutely intended.)
This year, I’ve got the most adorable Father’s Day craft for your Preschool, Kindergarten, and even 1st and 2nd grade students…
A sweet S’mores Writing Activity that is equal parts precious and purposeful!
The Theme That Will Melt Every Dad's Heart!
Honestly, the theme sells itself. “I Love You a Little S’more Everyday”.
That tagline alone is going to have dads, grandpas, and special persons reaching for the tissues. It’s the perfect mix of silly and sweet, and your kinders are going to be SO proud to give this as a gift.
Plus, it doubles as a genuine literacy activity. Writing prompts, fine motor practice, coloring-this little booklet is working hard while looking adorable. That’s the kind of craft we love around here.

directions
How to use the
S'more Father's Day Writing Craft
- Print the pages you want to use
- Have students color and cut out the s’mores
- Students answer the writing prompts with words and/or pictures
- Punch a hole in the top and add a book ring
- Print your pages
- Staple or use book rings to bind them together
- Done!
- Hand out to students to color and fill in the prompts
Perfect for More Than Just Father's Day
One of my favorite things about this craft is the inclusive language built throughout. Not every student has a dad at home, and this activity has you covered.
The Special Persons Day page means every single child in your class gets to celebrate someone they love – no child left out, no awkward moments. That matters so much in PreK and Kindergarten.
The Bottom Line
If you’re looking for a Father’s Day craft that:
- Takes minimal prep
- Doubles as a writing activity
- Is genuinely adorable
- Works for ALL families
- Will be treasured (not trashed) by the adults who receive it
…then this S’mores Writing Activity is exactly what you need.
Your students are going to LOVE making it, and the special people in their lives are going to love receiving it even more. That’s a win-win in my book – and a very sweet one at that!
