Bear Snores On
Read Aloud Game for Kids

  • Read Bear Snores On with your child.
  • After you read, talk with your child about the book.
  • Ask your child questions about the plot.
  • Talk about your favorite parts of the book.
  • Ask your child who their favorite character from the book is.  
  • Next, set out the materials needed for the game.
  • Tell your child that you are going to reread the book together.
  • Whenever they hear the name BEAR they get to cover a number with a pom-pom. 
  • At the end of the game they will get to see how many times BEAR is written in the book!
  • Ask your child to count the pom-poms.
  • Encourage them to touch each pom-pom as they count it.  
Lastly, write the number in the circle next to the characters name. 
  • Invite your child to choose another character from the book and repeat the steps using the new character!
  • If you do all of the characters, talk about whose name is said the most and whose name is the said the least.
  • Are any of the characters tied? If so which ones?
