directions

How to Make Bubble Monsters

  • Gather supplies
  • Add 2 TBSP of paint to each container
  • Add 1-2 TBLS of water to the paint
  • The amount of water needed will depend on the thickness of the paint
  • Add 2 TBLS of dish soap
  • Mix well
  • If you mixed the bubble paint recipe in larger containers-be sure to pour mixture into shallower bowls or container.
  • Place straws into each paint bowl.
  • Use a push pin to poke a hole in each straw to prevent your child from accidentally sipping instead of blowing!
  • Invite your child to choose a color and blow into the straw to make bubbles.
  • Blow bubbles until the bubbles reach the top of the bowl.
  • After the bubbles have reached the top, place a piece of card-stock paper on top of the bubbles and press down.
  • Remove paper and repeat this process with other colors!
  • Use a shallow container for the paint solution so the bubbles can easily reach the top.
  • Bubble Painting is a bit messy-so be sure to use washable tempera paint, and “play” clothes.
  • Bring the bubble paints outside so your child can soak up the vitamin D while creating art!
  • Make sure your child always puts the same side of the straw in the paint each time-to avoid getting a mouth full of paint and soap!
  • Wrap a piece of tape around the top of the straw so your child always knows which end of the straw should be in the paint.
  • If your paint mixture is too thick and not producing many bubbles, just add a little more water.
